Over 6,000 fans flock to MARC Stadium for slam dunk event

The MARC Stadium in Bacchus Marsh has delivered a slam dunk debut for the first-ever Basketball Victoria Junior Country Championships.  

In just a day and a half, MARC Stadium drew over 6,000 visitors to the event that exceeded all expectations – establishing the venue as a premier basketball destination in Victoria. 

With flawless operations, a packed schedule and standout performances by young athletes from across regional Victoria, the event had players, coaches, officials and fans buzzing with praise.

“The huge crowd shows just how much the community loves junior basketball,” said Stephane Tabardin, Venue Manager at MARC Stadium. “I’m extremely proud of the team for how smoothly things ran, thanks to the hard work of our team members and Basketball Victoria (BV) volunteers, the games stayed on schedule, the courts were well-managed and the whole event felt seamless.” 

One Basketball Victoria officer shared glowing feedback, stating, “Everyone had nothing but great things to say about the venue, staff and volunteers. Stephane’s planning and communication were spot-on. We will absolutely be recommending MARC Stadium for future events”. 

With its prime location just 30 minutes between regional and metro Victoria, MARC Stadium is ideally positioned as a central hub for basketball tournaments. “With such a strong debut, we’re excited to welcome even more events in the future,” Stephane concluded.
